(Intervista a Telepathy)

(Lettere Dall’Undergound) Hi guys, it’s a pleasure to talk with you. Let’s talk about Tempest. Can we say that each one have a tempest inside?
(Telepathy) Definitely, the concept of the new album was born from a turbulent time in our lives and deals with a lot of themes that were prevalent for us at the time. So yes, you could take the concept metaphorically or literally

 ● (LDU) I like a lot that you have built a story without works, and I think that every person that listen to Tempest is able to see clearly what was your intention, so have you first talk about the idea of what do you wish to tell or music came first?
(T) The music definitely came first. After we had written the first two songs we could all see the story that was emerging from the music. From there, we structured the album to fit the narrative.

 ● (LDU) Another great thing of your music is the fact that you have no limits. You play easily post metal, doom, sludge, post rock. How much important is to don’t have limits when you write music?
(T) It is the most important thing for us, we don’t want to be restricted to one style or formula. Being pigeonholed into a certain genre is something we have very little interest in, we would rather follow our instincts and carve our own path

 ● (LDU) You have recently play at Roadburn Fest. How was it?
(T) Roadburn Festival was an amzing experience and it was an absolute pleasure to end our tour there. All i can say is all the positive things you have heard are true, and it’s a festival that anyone with an interest in forward thinking music should attend.

 ● (LDU) Have you ever think to put voices on your songs?
(T) For sure, with Echo of Souls on the new album, we knew it was perfect point of the album and time for our band to introduce vocals into the music. We will never use vocals for the sake of it, only when they can add something to the music and always as another instrument

 ● (LDU) What do you expect from your audience?
(T) Absolutely nothing, we know that we are very privileged to have people such as yourself who are interested in the band and the music we make. We’re incredibly grateful to be able to play this music for people far away from home and to have an audience around the world who dig what we do. We just want to share an experience with people and hope they take some pleasure in what we do.

 ● (LDU) Like a musician what it’s the perfect concert?
(T) When the crowd and band become one, and everyone loses themselves to the music.

Tempest

 ● (LDU) What is the strangest thing you have lived playing your music?
(T) So many! Honestly, sharing a bill and backstage with Scott Kelly from Neurosis, Chelsea Wolfe and John Baizley was pretty surreal for us as a band. Driving through the Czech mountains and playing an old orphanage on our first European tour was pretty strange!

 ● (LDU) What do you think about Italy? Have you the idea to come there to do some concerts?
(T) We would love to play some shows in Italy, hopefully we can make that happen in the near future!

● (LDU) Thank you so much! Hope to see you on stage very soon!
 (T) Thank you for your interest and time, we hope you’re all digging the new album!
